Impressions in New York City

Upon a recent visit to the city

Subterranean travelers
move about the city
contained in self protected oblivion.

The streets plowed full of snow
splattered in frozen guise
among high minded skyscrapers.

Pasta and wine
delight our minds

Tarot readings and Hanuman monkey god split our time

The Chelsea Hotel share remains of poets tell.
In village squares,
city denizens draught spirit casks,
trading plastic cards run through digital machines.

Tattoo shops and massage parlors
color the scene
Taxis shoulder the curb as we ramble alongside avenues.

An empirical flag was flying at Stonewall Monument.
Pride removed, crushing spirits once again,
On this terrestrial ball.
